The water intake system consists of 3 water intake structures, offshore tunnel pipelines (1350 lm), water distribution chamber and pipeline between chamber and treatment plant (3650 lm). Construction works commenced in January 2013 and completed in July 2015. This is one of the most complex tunneling operations and construction ever attempted in the region. Rescue of TBM (42 tons) under the lake and installation of 3 water intake structures (49 tons each) was the most challenging part of the project. Newly constructed water intake system in Jeyranbatan Lake substantially increases the reliability and flexibility of Absheron Peninsula’s water treatment and delivery system.

Services provided were the project management in full scope, including tender, procurement, contract, cost, programme management, construction supervision, building permit and authorities liaison, as well as the Client’s representation.
